For SEPTA, Brownstone is responsible for the community and stakeholder engagement strategy for the transportation system’s New Bus Network. Monthly, Brownstone engages up to 1000 unique riders across the ten (10) councilmanic district and four (4) counties to:

  • Provide feedback on how to communicate with communities, and when
  • Advise SEPTA about bus and route-related issues being discussed in their community, and
  • Help amplify information about the new Bus Network among neighbors and networks

 

As SEPTA gears up for the phased implementation of the New Bus Network to begin in 2025, Brownstone’s engagement efforts will continue, with specific focus on:  

  • Briefings for elected officials and civic and community leaders on the communications and engagement strategy to garner feedback, suggestions, and support;
  • Deployment of a communications toolkit for all stakeholders comprising digital assets and copy for promoting route change implementation;
  • Working with stakeholders on identifying how and where to communicate route changes;
  • Creation of up to 14 Community Input Committees to ensure that riders across the region are aware of planned route changes; 
  • NBN Activations at community third places, including places of worship, cafes, community centers, and neighborhood grocery stores, to better inform riders of the route changes; and
  • Engaging youth as messengers, to take home information to their parents/guardians and families.
